De Luca is a thorn in Elly’s side, mayor of Salerno for the fifth time.
Vincenzo De Luca’s victory in Salerno was anticipated. The former regional council president had won the mayoral office for the fifth time in the first round with a crushing lead over other candidates, approaching 60%. Franco Massimo Lanocita (M5S-Avs) was a distant second, with Gherardo Maria Marenghi, the center-right candidate, in third place, both with percentages exceeding 10%.
