I wrote The Seance for August 2025's #FuriousFiction run by the #AustralianWritersCentre and had high hopes for it. However, it wasn't the month's Top Pick, nor did it appear in the showcased stories or even the longlist. Was I disappointed? Of course I was!

But as Scarlett O'Hara might say of Furious Fiction, September is another challenge, and another chance to write a story that catches the judges' eyes.
