Ngā mihi o te tau hou. Happy New Year! I'm off my "holiday" from SM.

Well, we had a great break, I got some of the funding for both my volunteer community projects - the new #CentralAndWesternArchive computer arrived and is set up and now the new scanner has come in the post and is waiting to be picked up Monday, so lots of excitement here, many thanks to the Tūātapere TeWaeWae Community Board for their funding our new equipment.

What a week! Got the fundraising promotions calendar's done though, thank goodness and huge kia ora to #NZTwits and #Aotearoadons who helped with suggestions. Managed to get the wrong size card cut down & print, then re-order more correct size card from Gordon Harris, although more expensive.

If anyone would like to purchase to help support our 150th and the early history project book, please let me know. $20 each plus $6.50 cost of postage within NZ. For overseas I need to do a quote first.

So #NZTwits #Aotearoadons, got my RCI (Royal Commission of Inquiry) for state care & faith abuse hearing Monday... been shittest week in a long time, the very week I needed to be calm n collected. So if any of y'all are into positive thoughts etc, please send em my way as whisky will only do so much. I know its not the answer, but its a good start tonight. List of notes complete, emotions wrecked, my makau's mates in the garage with him as I can't deal RN, so its me & the ngeru (cats) & Masto...

So, I'd been put in charge of making the Fundraising Calendars for our 150th Celebrations at Ōtautau, to be sold at the town street party 9th December, but there was no A3 card in any of the usual stores, so we attempted an online purchase of some through TradeMe, only to find the A3 card was NOT A3, but 320x450, so too big for printer... They need printing before next Friday!! Ideas where to buy Cardstock from urgently in Aotearoa NZ??

It is makariri (cold), all the curtains are closed and Panda 🐼 Cat🐈 is NOT amused. She is extremely territorial so can't see out to protect her domain. She KNOWS she is not allowed in curtains to destroy the baby plantlings, and yet... The snap of her doing "oh shit you've seen me, now what do I do" is most hilarious!

As long as she stays away from the plants I've now compromised to letting her lie beside them #SheRules #QueenCat

#AtaMārie #NZTwits #Aotearoadons & others...Today is pouring rain, with predicted thunder & lightening on the way. Panda cat just came inside screaming for a dry down as she is dripping wet... Looks like a day to be in moenga (bed) with my ngeru (cats) but alas .. mahi must be done, many deadlines looming. So, will either have to do something I try to always avoid (put wee gene on for some power) or find something else to do on this dark dismal day BRRR!!

#AtaMārie #NZTwits #Aotearoadons and others... if you are in our beautiful country and like the idea of local grown, fresh, often organic or at least spray free food that is cheap and supporting others to live in your community, check out the #OpenFoodNetwork on the link. Open ones right now are Whenuapai, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Kōpūtai Port Chalmers, Aparima Riverton (which includes delivery to most of Western Murihiku Southland) and Tūātapere, some even post out : https://openfoodnetwork.org.nz/shops#/

The breaking of things continues at our whare, now it's my glasses! 😭 But I'm happy to report the optometrist's we are using are making sure they are masked. Kia ora SpecSavers for helping keep us safe from Covid. I'm a bit worried about my makau having to go to a hospital appt tho. I know it's masks in all health settings but it's such a risky place to have to go right now, tests needed or not. Let's hope our bad luck doesnt continue
Something that #NZHistory #NZ #Aotearoa #Aotearoadons including myself find hard to fathom: The 1871 England Census index, which contains a list of the streets listed in Worcestershire in the census, giving the town, street name, and parish they are listed in...JUST for the Worcestershire borough is 1213 pages long!! There were not even that many streets in the entirety of Te Wai Pounamu (the whole of the South Island) then, let alone in one province of it! #EarlySettlerHistory
