In this week of #AniMangaFoundIt by @apc , we’re not mad… we’re just disappointed.
There are quite a few disappointing anime out there, but among those I haven’t intentionally erased from my memory, I’d like to mention Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid. Given its premise (in a few words, “Soul Eater but 100% explicit yuri”) it just had… no, it needed to be good! But unfortunately, it’s not. The characters feels quite shallow, their dynamics are at the very least strained, the story is rather superficial… Overall, it feels more like a parody than a solid work. I’m not a storyteller, I’m just a translator, but even I can tell how to make this story undeniably good!
At least it packed with some curious references. Let me know if you’d like me to mention them.
@apc Hmm…my biggest disappointment is Reign of the Seven Spellblades. I’m a bit of a sucker for magic high school stories and liked how it started off pretty strong with interesting characters and ideas. But as the episodes progressed, it just wasn’t able to develop it’s large cast of characters and would abandon storylines and ideas. Oof.
Supposedly it’s going to get another season, but I won’t be watching! #animangafoundit #anime #ReignoftheSevenSpellblades

The Worst Precure Series Ever: Idol Precure. Ok, I haven't watched EVERY SINGLE one, but I have it on good authority from a trusted expert, and I have watched part of it--it's the first one I've dropped with prejudice. And it's primarily down to THIS stupid toxic bitch of a "character".
Unfortunately she's more than just a mascot, she's actually a Precure (ooh, spoilers... shut up) so it's not like she can just be ignored. At least Fuwa was mostly just "there" until she helped ruin things at the end in StarTwi.
And not only do the others put up with her, they never call her out on her bs.
Eh, I don't want to rant about it here really.
