@apc #animangafoundit Videogames are a rich commodity in anime, but one that really stuck in my mind was Hirotaka's addiction to Monster Hunter in Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku. It's not just notable for the sheer amount of hours he pumps into the game over the course of the show, but also it's a rare example of real game footage being used.

#animangafoundit I have one last bookcase to share from last week's challenge- The bookcases in the school library where Kyotaro and Yamada spend a good deal of their early relationship doesn't feature as much in later chapters as it did at the start of "Dangers In My Heart", but it's still an iconic part of the story.

@cthellis Amusingly, I have never watched Hyouka which led me to theory craft that Shoshimin was going to be about a pair of werewolf-like shapeshifters trying to pass as humans based on its 1st season opening. Oops. :p

But yes, one of the most important scenes involves bookshelves!

@apc In the beforetimes, there was one set of bookshelves and one book in particular that stuck out in all our minds, and accidentally ignited a revolution.

Today we honor and #AniMangaFoundIt where the biggest idiot in middle school and her best friend, the smartest genius in middle school, go to the National Library just to return a book, but instead discover the Important Documents Reference Room, and a singular book that fell into their attention quite literally, The Universe of the Four Gods, and summoned them to another world, and a fantastical destiny!

A real "oops, we exploded isekai" moment for the animanga world. (Yes we can argue over other individual titles, but there was a decade after Dunbine without follow-up; post-FY "became a thing" and a shoujo thing at that.)

@apc Since I literally just watched this, here’s a backup pick for this week - the Royal Library from The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch. The premise is, shall we say, unconventional to be sure! But I think it has potential, so I’m going to give it a few more episodes.

@apc It seems like when one is isekai’d, one tends to end up in a medieval fantasy world that usually has a lot of books and bookshelves. Sei finds herself in that world where she likes to do research at the royal library or finds herself at the magi assembly where of course there are books and bookshelves.
