Die erste metaphysische/philosophische Schriftzeile, die höchstwahrscheinlich original so vom Autor geschrieben wurde, ist vom ionischen Naturphilosophen Anaximander, ca. 580 Jahre vor unserer Zeitrechnung. Sie nimmt alles vorweg, was heute noch Gegenstand jedes ernsten Betrachters ist: Dialektik, Ursache und Wirkung, Geschichte und Materialismus.

Es sind folgende Worte:

**Aus welchem die seienden Dinge ihren Ursprung haben, dort findet auch ihr Vergehen statt, wie es in Ordnung ist, denn sie leisten einander Recht und Strafe für das Unrecht, gemäß der zeitlichen Ordnung.**
