Well, would you look at that... Managed 660 words, when I thought for sure today was a bust. Choosing to go the analogue way and use a fountain pen in one of my vintage notebooks made all the difference.
Call me old fashioned, but I much prefer writing this way than on my computer.

Jetzt bin ich aber mal geflasht! Es ist mir zwar nicht neu, einen Füller zu reinigen, aber heute habe ich erstmals ein Vibrationsreinigungsgerät dazu benutzt. Das Ergebnis kann sich sehen lassen, oder? 🤩 Ich hoffe, er ist bald trocken, ich will endlich die neue Tinte ausprobieren...
I'm really flashed! I'm not new into cleaning a fountainpen, but today I used a vibration cleaning machine the first time. The result is impressive, right? :smile:

Ich habe es inzwischen wirklich getan 😎: Seit Anfang April habe ich unterwegs die mobile Datenverbindung am Handy fast durchgehend aus (nur für Bustickets, Fahrplan etc. ist sie, wenn überhaupt, mal kurz aktiviert). Stattdessen habe ich jetzt noch mehr (fast) analoges Leben dabei:
Ein Notizbuch und (manchmal) dazu ein Terminkalender und der schlanke, aber sehr stabile Füller (ein günstiger Hongdian Black Forest mit schmaler Feder) ersetzen mir sämtliche vorher benutztze Apps. Und schnelle Schnappschüsse, für die ich draußen sonst die #OpenCamera App benutzt habe, mache ich jetzt wieder konsequent mit der mittlerweile um die 20 Jahre alten Kodak V570 - die macht immer noch brauchbare Schnappschüsse, auch, wenn sie sehr lichthungrig ist (sie neigt bei über ISO 100 gerne zum Rauschen). Einen mit der V570 gemachten Schnappi seht Ihr auf dem zweiten Bild:
Ich werde erstmal bei dieser Kombi bleiben. Offline ist es draußen viel entspannter. Ich muss auch nicht immer alles sofort wissen...

CHIBA process.
Many variables to play with in this process. Adventure - journey with an uncertain outcome. Everytime.
Spent 5 min's looking online for a plate drying rack. In the end I decided that £30 - £40 or more plus any import duties potentially was just too much.
So I've just spent an hour making a scrap of pallet wood into my version.
Here's an image from the fresh mix of New Cyanotype solution.
I adjusted the sensitizer:gelatine ratio to what I thought was the minimum. Nothing too scientific, a bit more reading online where info is available...
The white triangle is me screwing up. I tried to use the glass plate before it was dry.!
Coverage is much more even, exposure was a bit too short. But, overall I am pleased with the result.

Screwed up a couple of glass plates today - not leaving them to dry for long enough and also screwed the digital negs at the same time...
But, two of the plates have come out quite well, one under exposed but still decent. Dry down time now until tomorrow to get a better feel for them.
Thinner coating, maybe a better ratio between sensitizer : gelatine.
