New blog post out: I finally wrote a nature/gardening post.
Join me as I clean up the summer turtle enclosure. Let's look at some plants together and try some basic foraging.

Getting the turtle enclosure ready for summer

I tried making a puzzle at home, with mixed results.
Let's just say: some turned out better than others...

It took me forever to finish this post, as I'm not entirely happy with the structure/wording.
But I honestly just want to move on and work on the next post, so I figured I just accept the current version of the post and leave it at that.

R&D: Making a Puzzle

@ombialik Some people I'd recommend: @NylaWoethief (science-fantasy fiction), @amin (runs #WritingMonth, good insight into tech, every xkcd comic ever), @technologyconnections_mirror (good videos on technology) @prahou (brilliant art for our dark, wondrous age)

The next postcard for #FirstClassFiciton will be going out on Thursday, April 9. This postcard will feature a story by @amin. Benjamin Hollon wrote the story Those Who Breathe Easy for my anthology Overscan.

I love his work: the stories, the web projects, and #WritingMonth, which is a wonderful community effort.

Finally, only about one week late, I finished the Precious Blocks 2026Q1 update post. (I guess it should be Q2 now πŸ˜‚)

Either way, as I hinted at before, I've designed a custom PCB, updated the case and added new firmware features.
I even designed a landing page.

You can read all about the changes here: https://autumn-leaves.eu/blog/precious-blocks-status-update-2026q1/

Or check out the new landing page: https://precious-blocks.codeberg.page/

@Edent Revenge Of The Mutant Algorithms! Angels and Daemons. https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2024/11/angels-and-daemons/

A change of pace from the previous instalments: less a story than a piece of meta-level creative writing.

Hiii y'alllll.

I'm so excited to finally be back with some announcements:

I've moved my blog. You might remember it being over on ccw.icu, but I've decided to move it to a dedicated website.
You can find it over on https://autumn-leaves.eu/ now.
I even wrote a slightly unserious first post of the year: https://autumn-leaves.eu/blog/hear-me-out-coasy/

I'll still be making the same mixed content included arts, crafts, tech. But I just wanted it to feel more special and comfortable.
Like my own part of the internet.

Well, either way, I'm excited to be back.
It will probably be a while before the next post, as I'm still quite busy working on precious blocks (expect updates soon)

See youuuuu

Autumn Leaves

Today I setup a #WritingMonth project for my new novel project that I started last month. I've got a goal of 2000 words in January (setup as of today) which I am very close to reaching, with a goal of 5000 words in February.

Check out my WritingMonth profile here which will show all current and future goals - https://writingmonth.org/~orbitalmartian/

31. Happy New Year! Take pride in what you’ve written and share the progress you've made!

The year wasn't bad. I finished another #WritingMonth project, did a lot of editing, character development and roughly know where the third and last part of the WIP will go. I like the story.

#WritersCoffeeClub

I'm not unhappy with the writing I did. I completed another #WritingMonth challenge in November and just finished rereading and taking notes, and I still like it.
I constantly struggle with my impostor syndrome, especially when I see the work of all the fabulous writers here in these communities, but I'm beginning to care less and focus more on actually finishing this WIP. So I plan not to edit too much and rather declare another writing month, maybe in April (that used to be NaNo camp time) and get to writing part 3. The pantsing does things to the plot I couldn't foresee in part 1.
