For the past year, once or twice a week, my mom tells me how she didn't sleep the night before. When I suggest she speaks to her doctor she gets furious and tells me this rarely happens and tries to tell me it happens only about once or twice a year.

She lives alone still (her doctor says this is fine) but I'm thinking maybe it will be important to track her health? Anyone have experience with #Alzheimers #Dementia and how do you track this?

Also, if anyone knows of any good free apps that they have already tested feel free to let me know! I can look up apps but if you have already tested this, I that would save me time and energy.

Thank you so much in advance. I'm overwhelmed and alone.

1/ 🚨 The "miracle" Alzheimer’s drugs we’ve been hearing about? A major review suggests they offer shockingly little benefit to patients.
But the real story isn't just a scientific failure—it’s a systemic one. Here is why the "breakthroughs" are stalling. 🧵👇

A retrospective study of 919 patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), or both examined psychiatric symptoms associated with the different groups. FTLD is difficult to diagnose when co-occurring with AD; diagnoses were made by autopsy. Patients with FTLD showed more personality changes and disinhibition.

Eating more plants linked to lower risk of dementia, even in older age

Eating more healthy whole plants in midlife reduces the risk of dementia, while consuming more unhealthy plant-based foods raises risk, a new study found.

My Mother’s Memory

My mother is 103 years old. To live for over a century is a miracle, but it comes with a heavy tax. Her progressive dementia has reached a stage where language is slipping away. Her speech has become “gibberish” we can’t quite decode, and her once-prolific writing has slowed to a trickle of fragmented lines.
