A weird but interesting alternate reality: Windows 3.0 didn't get any approval by Microsoft. Windows got cancelled. Microsoft continues working on NT OS/2 3.0. OS/2 became a true successor to DOS.

Fast forward to 2021. IBM announces OS/2 15.0. Designed for x86-64 only. Advanced features, and stuff. Now available on ThinkPads starting November 2021.
