the next volume of the Adult Analysis Anthology is fundraising right now! this is a really cool series actually taking a critical look at porn games, and @lunalapin is in this issue ( @junebug was in the first one too!), so if you can spare some cash to support some cool analysis, definitely consider grabbing prior volumes. #gamedev #indiegame #gaming #adultgames

CW: Sexismus, sexualisierte Gewalt, Mord, Inzest
Today we recorded one of our longest #RandomEncounters episodes to date, but the complex topic of sexualised violence in adult games simply required it.
We discussed studies, sexual health, kinks, politics, and quoted the experts who kindly gave us interviews.
Jean Ketterling and her colleagues are looking for "game makers affected by the 'NSFW' policy changes on Steam and itch.io for a survey. This survey is part of a broader project on the factors that shape the production, distribution, and consumption of porn games." More information can be found here: www.pppproject.com
Jean is doing great work and I highly recommend reaching out to her and participating in this survey.
Ich habe "Lula 3D" zum Laufen gebracht und untersuche nun als Pornodarstellerin das Verschwinden von drei anderen Pornodarstellerinnen. 😂😂😂
Was ein Trash.
@kkarhan You mean the #SteamDeck Community?
- Sadly #Steam bowed before #censorship and yeeted a lot of #NSFW #games...
Over on Bluesky, there's a lively discussion about games journalism and its reluctance to cover adult content:

There are many good responses in the comments, but Ana and I actually brought up most of these points back in 2021 in an episode of my podcast "Random Encounters".
Since the content is still relevant, I asked for permission to publicly share the audio file (which used to be Patreon-exclusive content). You can listen and download it here:

Game developers fear for the future of games with LGBTQ themes, which is leading some to pursue alternate forms of distribution:

"So where are we supposed to go if we can't trust our platforms to have our backs? [...] I don't know the answer to that, but I think it would be wise if we all took some steps to take back the means of how our work is distributed in some way."
Today I'm starting my deep dive into the complex topic we've picked for the next episode of Random Encounters: Sexualised violence in (interactive) #Pornography .
Gloria and I always take great care in doing proper research, but in this case it's particularly important, as fictional depictions of sexualised violence have been the source of major controversies and often held responsible for real-world crimes. Most recently, #CollectiveShout made this particular claim — without proving empirical evidence — to deplatform #AdultGames .
