We’ve been reviewing the achievement data from last week’s Astra Protocol 2 update.
It doesn't come as a major surprise as to which has been the most popular one so far.
If you’ve been achievement hunting, I’d love to hear what stood out to you.

Finally more progress on the achievements for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, I finished all achievements for Tomb Raider 2: Golden Mask today. Some of these were pretty tough, couldn't have done it without chat -- I prefer exploring and playing without looking anything up as much as I can. Missing 2-3 items at the end of every level sucked though, had to backtrack a few times. 🙈

I will be the first to admit that I may have a problem...
I've been on a full-clear all-achievement streak in my gaming lately, and I'm super proud of this one because Dragon Quest XI is such an incredibly delightful game. What an absolute joy to spend 150 hours in that world.
So I used to think that Doom was my comfort game. It's a solid choice, I won't lie.
But I am somewhat doomed out, as you can imagine. So what is my next choice for something to play to catch my breath before the next big thing?
A little gem called #ALinkToThePast . Which I think has superseded Ocarina as my favourite #LegendOfZelda game.
I went through of a period of doing randomiser runs of this game on a near daily basis. I know this game, almost, like the back of my hand now. So playing it vanilla, with some interesting challenges, was definitely quite refreshing, but I hope I never have to no damage Mothula or Blind again... Or get the final Mothula hit with a Bee.
This was a nice quick mastery before on #Retroachievements before I go to Berlin for a family wedding.
Does it bother anyone else that Link is blonde in the promo art but has pink hair in-game?

So I have been working on my list of childhood games and which ones have #RetroAchievements .
At the moment, i only have the Nintendo stuff listed up to the N64. It is strange to think that I had so few Gameboy Colour games!
These are just the games I have owned and played on official hardware at some point in my life. It isn't even a complete list, as i swear i am missing a few...
Heaven forbid I add the things I want to play!
I might expand the list to say how many achievements I have gotten, maybe with some percentages of completion, etc
Frustratingly, some of these I had beaten on my YouTube channel, which I suppose could count as having completed them... 🤔
In the meantime, I have a rudimentary colour code:
Unhighlighted: Not started
Grey Box: Might not play (due to length/time constraints)
Yellow: In Progress
Green: Completed
Green, bold, and boxed: Mastered
Initially I told myself I wouldn't.
But after I had finished #Doom on #PlayStation I went back and decided to attempt some of the harder challenges on #RetroAchievements list for PS1 Doom.
Clear a stage with 100% kills only using the berserk power ups on Hurt me Plenty or higher.
Killing one of every enemy in the game with a chainsaw
Defeating the Cyberdemon on Tower of Babel with only using your fists (And Monster Infighting).
There is even speed run challenges of beating Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 in under 2 hours each.
At first glance those achievements sound difficult, but with only a little perseverance I was able to Master Doom on PS1.
Outside of PC Doom, this is probably my favourite way to play Doom, it runs well and feels pretty damn good.
Though Nightmare Spectres can go to hell... Or double hell after I send them there with a couple of super shotgun blasts!

Evidently, I am way behind on all matters retro gaming, but I recently learnt about https://retroachievements.org/
A website that has created achievements for games pre-PS3/Xbox 360, going as far back as the Colecovision. The site integrates with a number of emulators to capture and log these achievements. This has... potential.
My recent investment in a Steam Deck has got me thinking about some old games I want to go back to and complete, more so for the cathartic release of beating games I couldn't as a child.
Achievement hunting in video games has been one of my favourite things since they came to light, even if they are, effectively, a bit of a Humble Brag 😂
Either way, I am registered to the site and we'll see where this all takes me.
