I deliberately decided to draw Ed without any anatomy references, but ended up subconsciously copying one of Melinöe's prayer poses anyway :D, despite consciously trying to move away from it.
The coloring got out of hand as well. None of the tasteful detail distribution and color jitters of the iconic Hades art-direction.

For several months now, we've been trying to draw a "mashup" fanart of the Elric brothers drawn in the style of the Hades portraits.
Tonight we finished coloring it. We bit off more than we could chew and I kinda gave up on making it look Hades-y halfway through, and then overdid the coloring anyway...I kinda like it :D
Poor Alfonse was intended to get overshadowed, unfortunately.

SaasteOlen jatkanut Mythos-kirjan kuuntelua ja sen myötä minulle on tullut ihan uudenlainen arvostus Hades-pelejä kohtaan.
Ensinnäkin peli tekee jotain oikein, jos se saa tällaisen paatuneen ateistin kiinnostumaan kreikkalaisesta mytologiasta ja sen jumalista.
Sen lisäksi tajuan nyt, kuinka hyvin Hades-pelien hahmot on kirjoitettu. Pelin takana olevat ihmiset todella ymmärsivät kreikkalaista mytologiaa ja tunsivat jumalat, niiden outoudet ja sekavat sukulaisuussuhteet. Pelit ovat täynnä viittauksia mytologian yksityiskohtiin, joista minulle ei ollut hajuakaan.
Tästä huolimatta se on osannut ottaa myös onnistuneita vapauksia ja käyttää mytologiaa luovasti ihan vaan jotta pelin tarinasta saadaan mielenkiintoinen ja jännittävä.
Hienoa työtä! Jos et ole Hades-pelejä pelannut, nyt jos koskaan on aika antaa niille mahdollisuus ☺️
Hot damn, a sub 20 minute run in #Hades, and using the original Stygius and Aspect of Zagreus no less. Very nice build with Crystal Beam and Crystal Clarity putting out the sustained damage and using the Lambent Plume and Greater Haste to get the speed bonus to stack with the sword's aspect bonus.
