A question for #HamRadio Fedi:

A long, LONG time ago I got a few #AMPRnet addresses, back when it was being handled by regional administrators (specifically, I got mine from the admin for Michigan). From glancing at the ampr.org homepage it looks like the way it's managed has changed quite a bit since then.

If I were to set up an account on the new 44Net site, would I be able to 'reclaim' those old allocations? Particularly considering I only remember one of them...

@heiseonline und D), das wir dann als community bottom-up nicht mehr Adressen umwidmen könnten. Hatte mich z.B. auch gefragt, ob man nicht die Adressen, die #AMPRnet an Amazon verkauft hat, so nicht zurückholen könnte. Finde das immernoch ein Unding, bei #Freifunk hätten wir die z.B. gebraucht.
Auch sowas wie diesen #RFC wäre dann eine Einbahnstraße und könnte man dann nicht mehr rückgängig machen, wenn man in die andere Richtung dann mit Wettbewerbsklagen rechnen müsste: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-schoen-intarea-unicast-240/

Yay! Just got my first #AMPRnet subnet approved. Testing to begin soon on the #Mikrotik through tunnel! :)

I just applied for an IP address for AMPRNet, so I can connect my home LAN to this network via an IPIP tunnel. No radio connections available at the moment in this part of NL... #hamradio #AMPRNet
