Volunteers have helped manage 44Net since its earliest days, when packet radio linked local networks. The ‘Regional Coordinator’ emerged to help support new operators and manage infrastructure. #44net #amateurradio #packetradio #amprnet #44yearsof44net

A question for #HamRadio Fedi:

A long, LONG time ago I got a few #AMPRnet addresses, back when it was being handled by regional administrators (specifically, I got mine from the admin for Michigan). From glancing at the ampr.org homepage it looks like the way it's managed has changed quite a bit since then.

If I were to set up an account on the new 44Net site, would I be able to 'reclaim' those old allocations? Particularly considering I only remember one of them...

Unicast Use of the Formerly Reserved 240/4

This document redesignates 240/4, the region of the IPv4 address space historically known as "Experimental," "Future Use," or "Class E" address space, so that this space is no longer reserved. It asks implementers to make addresses in this range fully usable for unicast use on the Internet.

If you build it, they will idle. #FARPN #hamradio #amprnet

44net only IRC services start here. Next step is to get a client app written and wired into BPQ.

The eBay fairy stopped by and left me a present. Looks like I'll be building an #aredn node and adding it to my #amprnet allocation.

Yay! Just got my first #AMPRnet subnet approved. Testing to begin soon on the #Mikrotik through tunnel! :)

I just applied for an IP address for AMPRNet, so I can connect my home LAN to this network via an IPIP tunnel. No radio connections available at the moment in this part of NL... #hamradio #AMPRNet
