The #ACB23 convention was a blast! BPI had some wonderful programs all well attended, and of course the BPI suite was the place to hang out. It was so great to be among our own for just a little while. We've got some hard work ahead to plan for Jacksonvillenext year given the situation in FL, but BPI Advocacy is up for the challenge. The shiny new gizmo I bought at #ACB23 has arrived! I am now the proud owner of a Stellar Trek, a cool little device that's primarily a GPS/O&M tool but can also identify colors and read text and bar codes with its built-in camera. Anybody else out there have one? Might need to pick your brains a little. Looking forward to taking the GPS for a spin on my rides to and from work tomorrow.

I am truly honoured today to have been presented with the Robert S. Bray Award from the American Council of the Blind.
The Robert S. Bray Award is given in honor of the first director of what is now the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. This award may be given to an individual or an organization that has made a significant contribution to improving library services, information technology or communication access. #ACB23

Hello from O'Hare where I'm super early and trying not to fall asleep at the gate. #ACB23 has just flown by and I really don't want to leave Blind World for reality. But leave I must. Taking some great memories with me, and motivation, and a much-abused credit card. Earlier this year I was a bit reluctant to attend convention for various reasons. So glad I changed my mind.

My cousin's been raising puppies for GDB since 2002, and has two of her dogs currently working as guides with another in training. Yesterday I got to meet one of them. Cozumel was just a tiny puppy when she popped up on our family Zoom calls. Now she's a 3-year-old partnered with an awesome woman from Minnesota and apparently thriving in the stressful convention environment. Also she's a tiny Black Labby who loves giving kisses. Thrilled I got to meet her, and her person too of course. #ACB23
