One of the finest kits of retro gaming: legendary 16 bit Sega Mega Drive, Sega Mega-CD extension to play games from CDs and a fancy set of additional RISC CPUs packed in MegaDrive 32X addon making console 32 bit
Mega Drive (Genesis) consoles were known for excellent sound, so
as medium improved allowed game size (video and audio) even more compared to cartridges, thus providing richer experience
MegaDrive 32X served as a promising transition from 16 bit to 32 bit era before release of Sega Saturn
Twice the tower, twice the power!
The Power Base Converter only fits on my Model 1 Genesis, so the 32X stays on my Model 2. But you gotta love that disk tray on the model 1 Sega CD 😍
This beefed-up, maxed-out monstrocity has jetted across the cosmos to beat your brains out! But is it the alien? Or is it YOU?
Most of the 1996 pro wrestling stuff I'm watching has the commercials cut out, unlike the 1995 stuff I collected.
On one hand, the commercial breaks are when I would have stepped away from the TV back in the day, but on the other hand they were an interesting time capsule.
Like for instance, in 1995 Sega pushed the 32X for a few months, jumped to the Saturn, then suddenly dropped the Saturn and started advertising Genesis games? No wonder the 32X and Saturn flopped here...
