This was hands down my favorite album of 2022, and it wasn’t particularly close.
Such an endlessly playable and infectious masterpiece from two very talented women from the Isle Of Wight, UK.
It is a very modern record, yes, but it also summons up the spirit of some artsy late 70s and early 80s punk and new wave.
If you haven’t gotten on this yet, you absolutely need to.

2022 was a kick in the teeth and I'm not sad to see it go. One of the few highlights was this collaboration we did with the Ukrainian band Nameless 🇺🇦 in April. It's truly a beautiful song and we were honored to be a part of it 💙

Sometimes, Forever is such a good album. Tension filled lyrics with loads of great imagery, and one well earned melody after another. Who knew bleak could ever sound so good.

The Burning Hell - Garbage Island
I first saw the Burning Hell back in 2017 in a packed wooden hut in Locharon with about 18 other people. I was impressed. Here's the best crossover ornithology/apocalypse rock album ever made, and probably my most listened album of 2022.

Kokoroko - Could We Be More
I shit on algorithmic music discovery a lot but I definitely discovered Kokoroko thanks to Youtube recommendation sometime in 2018. This long awaited album is everything we all hoped it would be.
(As much as it pains me to include a London band in place of a Manchester band in a top 5 of anything :-)
