I would love to go to space and meet some aliens - I've just thought about it long enough to not assume that aliens want to meet me

"Gay bars, lesbian bars, queer bars -- these don't simply exist for social entertainment, although that purpose is quite cherished. Their primary and most important component is serving as an oasis of personal dignity and safety... They are home and hearth for chosen family. They are nurturing desks for the drafts, rough and final alike, of queer artistic brilliance. They are a place to laugh and cry and breath freely."

Ive seen posts for those who wish to help towards the costs of running Mastodon servers (Instances)... as the costs for keeping each one online will likely go up significantly as they continue to gain new folk!

For those like myself who are registered on https://mastodon.world to help @ruud (Our Admin!) keep things running

The donation options are....

having a Jewish community around when somebody dies really is amazing. you don't get sent flowers - instead people turn up with all of your meals for the week. there's no "let me know if you need anything", they just turn up and do things. it's an embrace from everybody saying "we've got this, so you don't have to". emotion is embraced. no stiff upper lip, it's wobbly bottom lip. it's a realisation that supporting the living is just as important as remembering those you lost
