The Dermochelys coriacea or Leatherback Sea Turtle can be found throughout the world, from North and South America, to Africa, Asia, various provinces in Canada and even the southernmost tip of New Zealand! They are the world’s largest of species turtle and the fourth-heaviest modern reptiles, just behind Orinoco, Nile and Saltwater Crocodiles! They reach lengths of 3ft. 3 inches to 5ft. 7 inches or more and weigh 847 to 2,050 pounds!
