It’s really puzzling why so many social media platforms insist on requiring an account to browse. I can’t even tap on an Instagram profile without logging in, and even if I include the URL, it only allows me to scroll for a couple of seconds before asking me to sign in. YouTube is another example; it won’t let me watch videos on my phone anymore because don’t want to log in every time I want to watch a video, so it’s flagged me as a bot. I also feel like social media sites are overestimating how much I “need” to use their services. If they won’t let me browse someone’s profile or watch a video, I’ll just leave. The power of chucking your phone into the metaphorical ocean. I hope I hurt their metrics every time I close out of a tab <3
I believe that when you’re overstimulated, you should appear somewhat grayed out, and no one should be able to interact with you like a locked character in a video game.

WTF is with all the "Papers, Please, but without the dystopia" games? Like... the dystopia is the point. The surveillance state and all the horrible shit it forces upon you is THE POINT.

If you're playing a "Papers, Please" clone and it's in any way cheerful or cozy, you're basically playing fascist propaganda. Pressing a button to "send someone away" because of they failed a paperwork check should never feel fun or silly.

It should feel bad. Every time.

Once you realize it’s not “age verification”, but actually “identity verification”, then it’s easy to understand that the real goal is “papers, please” for the entire internet.
I am not the first person to point out that a “Luddite” isn’t someone who hates tech — they hated the EXPLOITATION OF PEOPLE by capital through the use of tech. Too many of my peers are on the wrong side of that and a lot of us are watching and making notes and will remember.

Stardew valley is a popular game with people in my generation. Like most video games it's a power fantasy.

In this case about growing food, having a functional "third space" in your community and fixing public transit. Pure escapism.

Also there are magic forest spirits and dungeons with monsters and treasures.

Adulthood is realizing Superman comics aren’t fantasy about how good it would be to have power; they’re a fantasy about what it would be like if someone with power was good.
All forms of lit pov is good!! 1st person, 2nd person, 3rd person... Just because you can't enjoy one type doesn't mean that the form is bad- You just may have not liked the story or how it was written
Or you have a preference
Personally, I believe all can co-exist and are all extremely important and ALL can be written well by the right people
