Danielle Smith admits her Sovereignty Act wasn't needed to do any of the things she's announced today, that it was just for grandstanding.

I finally got around to catching up on the results for both the Mariners  and Hearts  ladies...

Hearts thrashed Hamilton 6-1. Katie Lockwood with four.

The Mariners were unlucky not to come home with a point as the Victory scored a stoppage-time winner. Chinese international Wurigumula has become a real game-changer for the Mariners in recent weeks.

There was some excellent football to be had today...

The Mariners  got off the mark with their first win of the season today in the F3 derby.

They played like the team that won the Championship last year. Hungry and made the most of their chances.

In Scotland, a Lawrence Shankland goal was the winner for the Jambos  against St. Johnstone.

Zander Clark was also on point in goal.

Ouch.

Perhaps the UCP's energy would be better served trying to fix this than using our kids to further their own hateful agenda...

"The most recent data from Statistics Canada paints a dire picture. Alberta’s schools are by far the lowest funded, per pupil, in the country. As a result, we have a significantly higher ratio of students to teachers than every other province. Public education in Alberta would need an increase of $1.2 billion to bring Alberta just to the Canadian funding average."

Opinion: Where have all the teachers gone?

We cannot keep asking schools to do more with less. By underfunding, we are failing a generation of students who are our future leaders.

Here's what I'm currently reading and listening to:

Michael Katz has published a new translation of Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov.

It's about 900 pages, so it might take me the entire six weeks to get through it. The cover design and typeface are beautiful.

As it's moving into the Advent season, I thought I'd do a reading a day from Fleming Rutledge's great book Advent: The Once and Future Coming of Jesus Christ.

My current podcast rotation can be found here.

I have been digging the back catalogue of the Tech Against Terrorism Podcast.

And finally, this Spotify Playlist highlights some of my favourite tunes at the moment.

I'm always open to recommendations...
