Hey Engineers! What would it take to make a USB enclosure for old SODIMM modules with a CR2032 battery for temporary file storage?
If you're feeling down or low energy, maybe what you need is some Puredick to power up your day!
Do you have a trusted person that you'd leave your private data/logins with so that if you unexpectedly logoff IRL, you have someone who will handle your digital affairs?
they live glasses but for tech industry comment pieces 😎
Client wants to upgrade a 2012 MacBook Pro with an SSD simply because it's used to watch DVDs on while she works at home and the HDD is worn out. I respect the owner for keeping it out of the land fill.
Got 7 years of photos imported to immich before it decided to ignore any further imports and basically sit there using less than 1% CPU, even after a container restart. Sadly, despite unlimited account space, we made it to 9.9 GB before it gave up on me. Dang!
Meanwhile, the little APU-that-could is working it's 25 Watt cores off processing images as I import for testing.
I also learned that 'docker-compose' is different from 'docker compose' and that's not in the least bit confusing ;)
It bothered me all night thinking about it, so after @ntoskrnl recommended a nice looking app to meet my needs, I dove back into Docker with a fresh Debian installation. immich is 'installing' now, but having to run a container as root bugs me a ton. I looked into running as a separate user but I have to apparently edit a 'Dockerfile' that is a generically spoke of text file *somewhere* that I can't see, so this server will run the container as root in a private user space on my internal network. Unfortunate since I wanted external access, but so it goes.
Who here still uses IRC? And if you do, what's your general use case (entertainment, knowledge sharing, etc)?
