Brexit, probably the most irrational act of self harm by a single country, a delusion created by the destructive.

The UK exchanged the right to act sensibly in concert with our European neighbours for the need to act irrationally under the thumb of greater powers.

The UK government is reported to be drawing up plans to nationalise parts of the failing water industry; & to take liability for the debts created by previous directors & shareholders.

Let's just pause & think about this for a moment.

The directors & shareholders have acquired immense sums of money by dubious means; they are responsible for the current situation. They must remain responsible for the debts, while the UK takes over the assets & responsibilities of providing the service.

Love this font over the girls' entrance to the former Canning Place Public School on Saint James Road in the Townhead area of Glasgow. The range of different fonts used on old Glasgow school buildings is truly amazing.

I think that the argument about MMT is over. Every central banker knows that what it says is true. So why isn't it being accepted? The power struggle over whether democratically elected governments or financial markets should control the level of state spending is unresolved, and those with wealth are not willing to back down easily.
The stock market is failing according to the CBI. So why don’t we just let it go?

The CBI is saying that the situation with regard to the UK stock exchange is getting desperate, because it is losing out to overseas markets and not attracting sufficient business. The question that needs to be asked is, why is that?...

Entertaining it was.
Earthshaking it is.
Earthshaking for Labour, especially Starmer, who were slapped by the electorate over their sickening attitude to the Israeli conduct in Gaza.
We know the country doesn't want the destructive Conservatives but the blue lit path of Starmer does not present a hopeful alternative.
