With the amount of Markdown content I write these days, I feel I should look out for appropriate tooling that is out there. Relegating it to a "good to have" as I have been until now is possibly not the right approach.

Hello world!

Bluesky Social

Did I hear it right? #reddit is blocking other search engines than #google to index its content?

A while back they had restricted API access to user submitted content.

Reddit has been a platform to create to the old "forum" formatted community.

The more I look at it, the more #fediverse seems like an answer, but is it going to be hard for us geeks to get the regular folks to come over.

I am slowly working through scanning in all my (analog) notes and journals, and I now realize why it is important to pick something that lays flat for #journaling - I do not like those blurs on the scans, but do not want to wreck the spines of the books as well.

I had discounted the #Arc browser for a while now with the thought that there is not much one can do in that space.

I have been using it for a couple of days now. There is definitely an improvement, albeit incremental.

One, I have finally tamed the tab-sprawl into appropriate activity streams.

Two, the profile separation between personal and private (work) feels more clear than what #OperaGX offered.

Three, I am using the vertical space better on my 4k monitor.

I will be using this built from source #Zed editor on #Windows for a bit on my side/hobby #Rust project.

On impulse, I checked out #Zed editor, confirmed that they had #Vim Mode and wanted to try it out.

I do not have MacOS but they did provide instructions on building it from source. The dependencies were easy to fulfill as I already had the #Rust tool-chain, and a `cargo run` took about 50 mins.

I am amazed at the advances in the build eco-system in the past decade or so. A little more than 12 years back I had built GIMP from source [ https://kmaheshbhat.com/activity/o4pSwz0VBeNMW39ckZGs ] and it was not this easy.

For several years now, I have used #BulletJournal on days I was overwhelmed by tasks. (For more than a decade it was just one notebook with #ToDoList that worked for me).

After a sporadic start last month, I have taken up longhand #Journaling in my notebook.

One, it has been a cathartic to write longhand on paper. (I used to exclusively keep my journals when I did in a git repository as Markdown files).

Two, it has clarified synthesis of ideas.

Three, I grow consistent with my activities.

I did not realize how much of a boost to my activities the #POSIX environment is, until I had to train a couple of newbies and they were stuck on raw Windows environment.
The reason I have not yet switched to a full Linux DE is a tale of constraints due to corporate environments (Teams/collaboration and file formats).
