Yesterday, I told you the #IronAge was weird.... well, here's the categorical proof!

Yes, a #Torc with a knot in it! Yes, it would appear it's an Iron Age knot. We have absolutely no idea why someone would tie a knot in a torc (there aren't other known examples), but my suspicion is it was done because they could - this is not easy thing to do & my gut feeling is this is a goldsmith showing off their skill set.

But whatever it is, I love it! ❤️

I am once again asking you to stop using LastPass. The company has a history of security issues dating back years, and has yet to make holistic security improvements — or heck even investigate incidents properly.

Good alternatives:

- 1Password is my #1 rec, best for most use cases
- Bitwarden if you want open source
- KeePassXC if you want local vaults and open source
- I hear ok things about Dashlane but don’t know a ton

btw, SIgnal is really a pretty good replacement for Twitter DMs

the security is not absolute, but a non-techie can look at the promises and understand what they're getting into - so it's up to journalistic use

including end-to-end secured phone/video calls

new members can't see old messages but that's fine y'know

also: you are your phone number, so you may need either a public phone number or a burner phone. this was a barrier to me using it for a long time (tho now i post my phone # publicly, lol). this may make signal not an option for you.

anyway Signal is great, very usable and protects non-techies in adverse circumstances. you can and should use it as just your usual chat app. I heartily recommend it to all.
