I'm NCommander, also known as FOSSFirefighter in various parts of the Internet. I have a passion for retrotech, digital preservation, and studying the facts that help build the technological world we live in today. In the past, I used to professionally develop the Ubuntu operating system, volunteered as an interior firefighter in Henrietta, NY, and traveled across the world living out of a backpack for years at a time. I don't know where this road is going to take me, but I enjoy making content on YouTube, and I'm always hoping to find that rare "grail in the garbage" moment whenever I start a new project. As I could not find it anywhere online, I just spent a good amount of money on this German release of Windows/386, version 2.11. Back in 1989, this was the last official release before Windows 3.0 took over the world, about a year later.

I really hope these 720K disks will be readable on one of my 3.5 inch drives! 😅

Waiting is painful.

Today I'm going to #Munich for the @vcfe where I'm exhibiting early #Atari home computers, giving a lecture on the #GOTO controversy and holding an editor-editorial meeting about the next volumes in the #ComputerArchaeology book series. As the icing on the cake, swap (my) #THAT analog computer for a Leyboldt-Haraeus #AnalogComputer.
