Yevhen is an anarchist from Crimea. He took part in environmental and protest actions, squatting and the development of the squatted community center "Autonomy" (https://ukrarchipedia.com/uk/power/squat) in Kharkiv. Since February 1, 2018, he has been imprisoned by the Russian occupation regime on charges of "public calls for terrorism" - he denies his guilt. In our opinion, it was Yevhen's political beliefs and actions that led to his persecution.

Yevhen was sentenced to 6 years in a general regime colony (205.2, p.1, 205.2, p.2). He spent almost the entire term in the conditions of the single cell type as a "malicious violator of the regime". He has 51 disciplinary violations (https://www.facebook.com/100000273562786/posts/pfbid02gzbLQVmNaZ2YYdfCy4UkSNyg2gSFx7oMUFrHBAktcETPWeNceX9GEqHSAsKMAxQJl/?mibextid=Nif5oz), which became the reason for his transfer to the prison regime. Twice Yevhen cut his wrists (https://www.facebook.com/kraynochi/posts/pfbid0rdXqNgKNvdjysE6Lwu8zuDvJB4nDwvzoDRbDCXgqRW1bXuLpB7t6Rb5GDGD4Y8MXl) to protest against the actions of the prison administration.

In 2022, the Russian authorities tried to bring Yevhen to administrative responsibility (https://avtonom.org/news/u-evgeniya-karakasheva-izymayut-pisma-za-diskreditaciyu-armii) for "discrediting" the Russian armed forces, and recently he was sentenced to 8 years of administrative supervision. This means a ban on leaving his home from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., external oversight and mandatory visits to the police twice a month.

On February 1, 2024, Yevhen will be released! We want to help to raise some money for him. He has elderly parents and needs money to live and adapt to civilian conditions. He also needs medical treatment, as his imprisonment has severely worsened his health (https://avtonom.org/news/u-evgeniya-karakasheva-v-tyurme-razvilas-ishemiya-mozga). The comrade is waiting for examinations, neurological, surgical and dental treatment, surgery and rehabilitation.

These words were uttered by Kemal Pir, a Turkish-born leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). He died in 1982 during a hunger strike in the Diyarbakir military prison, where the arrested revolutionaries were tortured. Shortly before Kemal, his comrade Mazlum Dogan sacrificed himself by committing self-immolation in protest against the prison administration's actions.

July 14 is an important day in the history of the struggle of Kurdish and Turkish revolutionaries. It's associated with the events that took place in Diyarbakir prison, with its torturous regime established by the military junta. The resistance of Diyarbakir prison has become one of the cornerstones of the current narrative of the Kurdish revolution. It has become a symbol of steadfastness and has hardened many future leaders of the PKK guerrilla movement, which remains one of the most significant revolutionary forces in the twenty-first century.

Our thoughts and support are with the Kurdish and Turkish resistance! We honor your history and path. Your actions, your martyrs, your heroines and heroes are an example for us.

BOAK (and other initiatives from Ukraine) made a statement against the lie of German 'leftists' about our comrades Dmitry Petrov, Finbar Cafferkey and Cooper Andrews who died fighting near Bakhmut on April 19, 2023. They asked to spread it widely so what we do and ask you to help.

​​Anarchist movement answered to the provocation of German newspaper Junge Welt (by BOAK)

A German leftist paper recently published a speculative claim about our deceased comrades. It claims that the anarchists, who were killed fighting in Ukraine, had changed their views and joined the right. They try to prove it with a quote from the channel of right-wing politician Dmytro Korchynsky, where he spreads the lie that Dmytro Petrov, Finbar Cafferkey and Cooper Andrews joined the right-wing Brotherhood organization and “were learning to love god," implying that they gave up their views.

We won't allow this lie to desecrate the memory of our friends who were dedicated anarchists to their last days.

So where did the information about anarchists being members of the Brotherhood come from?

Dmytro, Finbar and Cooper, who died in combat near Bakhmut on April 19, were indeed there alongside Brotherhood members. But, according to the guys themselves, their friends and our comrade who was in the same division as them, they never joined that organization. Joint participation in combat and training was a temporary decision forced upon them by army commanders.

These fighters gathered together specifically to create an anarchist division, but had to make do with extremely limited means. After arriving at a training camp as a group, they were notified that they would be training alongside members of the Brotherhood, and later that they will go on their next mission together. For the sake of their goal, the anarchists were ready to take on any challenges, so they weren't stopped by the unpleasant necessity of temporary coexistence, since personal comfort is insignificant compared to the challenges of the anarchist movement.

We ask you to share this information and talk about this to make sure that no manipulations, either from right-wingers or from instigators, can dim the bright memory of our dear comrades. They gave their whole lives to the struggle for our freedom and yours, and bequeathed to us to carry on their work.
