@Cocohead I'm glad that the federated model came easily to you. Not everyone gets it right away.
Like it or not, joining mastodon isn't as simple as clicking "sign up" and providing your email. (It's close, but people still have to grok the federated part of it.)

@zarroba @bnftsftw I don't have a problem with NFT as a technology. I think it's silly, but I don't really collect anything, so it's not meant for me anyway.
My issue with web3 and NFT was the predatory "FOMO" nature of it. People selling NFTs for literally everything, and the california gold rush nature of it all. My overall perception of the NFT market in the last year was it was one big "get rich, quick!" scheme and those are never for real.

All major corporations are donating massively to both parties; effectively betting on all of the horses.
Corporations are not people and should not have political speech. If they don't like it; they are free to move their business to another country.
But that's not the world we live in.

Seems like the biggest issue is just cleaning up / making the sign up process a bit more comprehensible to non tech users.
@sctttnnnt Slow Horses was great. So was The Americans. Two of my favorite spy genre shows.
