Haven’t had much time to read for fun recently because of #phd, but rereading The Priory of the Orange Tree has been almost healing. #books

Got to play a clever new card game design by @tonytran last night that I know is going to do so so well.

I positively love the card game design space. What can you do in 9/18/24/50/54/90 cards? This is the stuff I want to explore more over the coming months.

I have a bunch of ideas ready (and a couple finished), but I need to actually do something with them…

I’m trying to treat this space differently than other spaces. Because of that, I’m probably not going to auto-follow accounts I followed in the old place.

Why? I’m not here for promotion right now. Maybe later. But if all I see from your account is self-promotion of your wares, I’ll probably unfollow.

This is not to dissuade you, but rather understand this isn’t alt-twitterverse. This is something different, and I’m choosing to treat it as such.

Going on a 3-day professional conference today. The last time I did one of these (way back in 2019), I carved out time for #gamedesign. Excited to have some brain space to do so again.

Already conjuring ideas for an 18-card #TTRPG about building connections between humans and the spirit world. We’ll see if anything comes of it.

The answer was to get another app. Just fyi. I bought the Toot! app because I don’t want to keep this as a website on my phone.

If I am using the Mastodon app, where is the general feed for tabletop.social? Or is there a different app that’s possibly better?

I’m feeling every bit of 40 right now. “How does this thing work?”

#introduction

I’m Travis. I’ve done board game stuff (play, design, edit, podcast) for a long time. I’m a public education admin who is in a PhD program that takes up most of my time.

I’m here because @theonetar said I had to be. Let’s talk coffee or game design. This is my cat, Nox.
