Now I understand. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is actually the final episode of The Prisoner. 🤪

This is an automatic account, which checks every 10 minutes or so to see if there has been a lifeboat launch by the RNLI, and if there has, posts the location and time of the launch.

I know a lot of people were very fond of the equivalent bot on twitter/X, so I made this one for you to follow and not miss out.

Watching Superbowl with the sound turned down (no I don't really understand it) while listening to some amazing music on BBC radio 6 music. Also getting pretty drunk - which helps 😁
In case you don't happen to speak BBC this basically translates as: "Lol, get fucked TERFs". #doctorwho

Despite very strong local feeling, the bodies were never recovered. The 36 inch pumping engine installed here could never clear the mine of water since it was now connected to older flooded workings. A 60 inch engine was needed which would have cost £4000, more than the owners were prepared to pay. A short burial service was held here and Wheal Owles was closed, never to work again.
A disaster fund was started for the men's dependants and is reported to have reached a total of £3293. 2/2
The Cargodna pumping house, West Wheal Owles mine on the clifftop near Botallack, Cornwall
The site of one of the worst mining disasters in Cornish History. On the 10th of January 1893 a large section of rock separating this mine from old flooded workings collapsed and flooded the mine in the space of 20 minutes up to the 30 fathom level (sea level). Half of the shift were drowned, 19 men and one boy.

I took a trip to #StIves #Cornwall today. My first foray into West Cornwall since lockdown. On a packed train home I was the only one wearing a mask. Now starts the familiar three day wait to see if I got away with it this time #Covid

In 1943, U.S. forces in Britain expected to export racial segregation. When white American Military Police (MPs) insisted a local pub segregate, the owner said he would. When MPs returned next day, they were met with “Blacks Only” signs & British barmaids telling white soldiers to wait their turn when they thiught they would be served before black soldiers. This set the stage for the epic Battle of Bamber Bridge.
