The Man Who Went Shopping For Dining Chairs and Accidentally Bought Stonehenge.
On September 21, 1915, a British barrister named Cecil Chubb was given a very simple task by his wife, Mary. She sent him to a local auction in Salisbury with strict instructions: buy a nice set of dining chairs for their home.
But as Chubb sat in the auction house, he got distracted. "Lot 15" came up for sale, a 30-acre plot of land featuring a crumbling, dilapidated ring of ancient rocks.

Autumn light on Alpe di Siusi. Thereโs a certain stillness here that feels like a mountain-top version of Tuscany. The golden meadows and the rugged face of Sassolungo create a quiet, cinematic contrast that I could wander through all day. Itโs a rare pocket of peace in the Dolomites.

"Ask most people, and the image of wind turbines as bird killers still persists, often amplified by anti-renewable rhetoric. But if you look at the hard data, a different story emerges. It turns out that while wind turbines do kill birds, they are statistically insignificant compared to the bigger killers we have in our cities and in our bedrooms. In fact, when you factor in climate change, wind power might actually help birds."
Data not only shows the relative impact of wind turbines on bird deaths, but also gives us the insight to reduce their impact further.

Just finished my PhD fieldwork exploring how the design of social platforms shapes the experiences of queer young men.
Post PhD, I want to find an industry UX job where I can keep applying my research and design skills to create meaningful experiences.
In 2024 I'll head to the Bay Area, attend CHI, WWDC and Config, before going to the EU for DIS.
If you're interested in my work, know any companies that you think would be a good fit or are working in UX in SF/SV, I'd love to hear from you.
