@Vivaldi after this update, I am no longer able to start Vivaldi on Mac Tahoe. It crashed and I can not recover the tabs anymore. Do not have time to send report, although the "encountered a problem" reporting window appears for short time, it keeps crashing again and again.
@ZLabe Polymarket has a betting option for warming 2026 outcome. Not sure if I want to bet 🤷🏼

@davidho.bsky.social I knew you would comment on that study! Well, a npj Climate Action-worth idea.
@Gargron be the toot that you want to boost in the world.

📣 New preprint: Warmed soils remain a robust sink for trace gases - especially CO and H₂. Methane-oxidizing microbes are less resilient, yet they persist and continue to mitigate accelerating global methane emissions.

@Ruth_Mottram tagging @ZLabe in this thread. He might know already.
@Ruth_Mottram oh no! Is there any announcement of the monitoring shut down?

@sunguramy

@joncounts what's your take on this update?

Picard management tip: Try to understand more than half of the technobabble. Ask for metaphors to explain the rest.

‘Methane emissions from drinking water purification can be reduced by 50%’ | Radboud University

It is becoming increasingly difficult to produce sufficient drinking water, and this process also releases large amounts of methane. For his PhD thesis, microbiologist Alje Boersma found ways to reduce methane emissions by 50%.
