We're ready for Microsoft Recall and the automatic screenshots it takes of everything on your desktop.

Signal Desktop on Windows now includes support for a new "Screen security" feature designed to block screenshots of your Signal chats.

By Default, Signal Doesn't Recall

Signal Desktop now includes support for a new “Screen security” setting that is designed to help prevent your own computer from capturing screenshots of your Signal chats on Windows. This setting is automatically enabled by default in Signal Desktop on Windows 11. If you’re wondering why we’re on...

By popular demand, a single post to boost global switch day across multiple platforms on February 1st 2025.

For those who can no longer get behind Musk or Meta's new policies and feel like switching (e.g. from #Whatsapp to #Signal, from #Instagram to #Pixelfed or from #X to #Mastodon) I made you some graphics to use freely in communicating with your contacts.

Let’s lead by example 🙂

@AmkiTakk i have a paid plan for Proton Unlimited, since 2 years. Happy about if for now, i like the way of how they added folder and labels to go well together, to filter out stuff/mails. I also use Simplelogin for aliases, and use these to register accounts, to avoid giving any of my proton address, so i can just disable an alias if its leaked/sold and update it for the website. Using their apps with android, linux, and on the web, and no issues at all for daily use
@aemaeth At least, if this can make people more aware about what "aliases" are, what are the services having aliases (SL, Addy, Firefox Relay etc), it's a good start. Then they will have the basics to research about mail providers like Proton, Tuta and others
Let's wait and see how Google will also add this, if the aliases are unlimited in time etc
@xphentom hey, i use it for everything. But i do have aliases so i don't give out my proton address to online services and others, to be able to manage spam and when needed, disable an alias and create a new one
