I inherited this cassette deck from my grandfather. It's been sitting mostly unused for the last few years, because at over 40 years old it was starting to fail in a few different ways. But I've now spent far too much time and more money than it's really worth getting it fixed up, including paying someone to replace all the capacitors and replacing half of the mechanical parts with good ones from an identical machine, and finally it works great and is going to see daily use again!

The tape ("Team en Esperanto") is one that I always seem to end up playing first on any machine I've just fixed up.

BTW does anyone know anything about the different types of meters on tape decks? These consistently register about 6 dB lower when playing music than the linear LED or fluorescent meters on other decks, even though I lined them up with tones at 0 dB just the same. I assume they have a 300 ms integration time (even though they don't specify VU), whereas non-mechanical meters might be showing peaks?
