@aethersia Shirt, sunglasses, sunscreen, sombrero, siesta, shade, smoothie, sandwiches, some sea shanties, and Shakespeare.

Sounds like a good Sunday afternoon to me.

Oh, and a snack platter of salami, stilton, salsa, and samboy chips.

Ending the school year on a high note, by finally alphabetically organising the French fiction shelves.

Image: before and after comparison of a book shelf "Before" picture is messy and jumbled with shelves at different odd heights and all different books mixed in together. "After" picture is neat, symmetrical, and clearly marked with alphabetical section dividers.

@melikhovo I miss the time when the wealthy would show off by funding libraries and theatres and school departments and parks, instead of circle-jerking about stock prices and comparing the size of their... rockets.

Bring back wealthy patronage of the Arts!

That's a lot of Disney books. I'm happy with the #CollectionDevelopment of the library's #comics and #GraphicNovels so far, but it's still got a lot of growing to do.

Seasonal Reminder !

The #SalvationArmy is not a #charity. They are an evangelical protestant church that uses donations to oppose #LGBTQ rights.

Give them NOTHING.

I don't do advent calendars, but if I did, these ones I saw at Kmart have a little mini storybook for each day, instead of cheap disappointing chocolates

My only motivation for learning electronics would be so I can open up my fan and remove the stupid beeper that beeps whenever I touch the buttons.

It's a fan, it doesn't need to beep. OR have LED lights.

@Trishh to clarify, that's €4000 of books - or about $6200 Australian dollars! #SchoolLibraryInvestment

Almost all of which I will need to catalogue from scratch, because I don't have access to French-language z39.50 records!

CW only because I like the ability to see subject headings of posts at a glance. It's the librarian in me 😅

If you followed me on bird site previously, you might know how excited I am about this manga series: I Think Our Son Is Gay, by Okura.

I found volume 3 in the bookshop, and I am so happy. Such a beautiful, wholesome, uplifting series. ❤️

If you like queer texts about good parents who love and accept their gay children, go and read this series.

@jesshealywalton tsundoku! I'm surrounded by books that I likely will never have the time to read, but that by itself brings me joy. Like the "potential joy" I might one day get from reading them radiates out from the covers and fills the room with anticipation, in a way that books I've already read don't.
