@codybrom it's not just about the cost of the API usage but also the restriction of NSFW content to be only viewed with the official app.
@atomicpoet I think some clients might support different views of communication.
For example if use something like Reddit I want a different ui then if I use Mastodon.

I know it is not going to resonate much with people in English speaking countries, but this has been a major issue for people who use alphabets with special characters (my native Czech included).

For years #PDF viewers on #Linux such as #Evince couldn't save characters outside the basic charsets in PDF forms. It turned out to be a complex problem and multi-year effort, but it's finally done and you can use unicode in PDF forms. First available in #Fedora 37 where we've already backported it.

CS in school: let's learn about sorting algorithms and all these efficient data structures
Work life: spend half day trying to debug an issue that turns out to be a third party stuffing a null-terminated string in structure that isn't expecting it..
@codonell I wonder a about the timeline about such depredations. Removing fgrep and egrep in the close future sounds like a bad idea because changing every kind of script or any other automation will take long. Keeping the symlink/wrappers around doesn't sound to difficult either.
@ram while I understand the problem I want to add that there's no the package manager on rpm based distributions.
Over the years some have come and gone.
The dominant ones are now zypper and dnf.
It's similar to dpkg although in this case there's only really apt.
