"What's the worst that could happen?" Well, before I start answering that question, does anyone have a hard stop?
In unrelated news, we can all play as @jerry in COD MW3 now, which is pretty awesome ๐Ÿ‘
Shuts down laptop: I think thatโ€™s enough internet for today.
Picks up phone: Letโ€™s see what the pocket-sized internet is doing.
I am begging software projects to release programs as tarballs or plain old static binaries. I don't know what a Helm chart is. I am not installing an entire Kubernetes cluster. Docker breaks LXC and firewalls and is constantly breaking for mysterious reasons. I would rather submit myself to hours of `./configure && make && make install` frustration than try to hack through the endless hellscape of containerized deployment systems.

Did you know that #defcon operates a crisis hotline 24 hours a day during the conference, ready to respond to everything from medical emergencies to personal crises to sexual assault? The volunteer goons that staff it get months of training and practice role play, and basically give up their weekend to be ready to help our community stay safe and healthy.

This is noble, difficult, valuable, and largely invisible work, and deserves our appreciation.

Living in a rural area certainly got its downsides, but one undeniable upside is being able to watch the stars at night right from my balcony ๐ŸŒŒ
I would let Tim Walz watch my drink while I go to the bathroom.

"agree to disagree" is such a bullshit phrase.

We can agree to disagree about which flavor of ice cream is best. We cannot agree to disagree about whether I or anyone else deserves to live.

Since 2/3 of my current team has been laid off and my employer is undertaking a massive shift in strategy right now, which most technical staff do not agree with, I'm looking for a new project to dump my energy into.

I have years of experience designing & building highly automated & scalable cloud & on-prem infrastructure and could potentially bring along a handful of very talented fullstack & backend developers with lots of experience in DevOps.
All of us have a heavy focus on security, open source and automation and prefer working at startups.

Drop me a DM if you know someone or something, preferably remote anywhere in the EU. (queer-friendliness is a must!  )

Boosts appreciated!โค๏ธ
