I tend to use the term leading practices for those that are more generally applicable. Situational is certainly a useful framing.

I truly do not understand why people burned by #LastPass, a proprietary password manager, are seemingly gravitating towards #1Password, another proprietary password manager, when #Bitwarden is literally right there with a open, secure #FOSS option.

How are y'all going to just hand over your most sensitive information to a proprietary blackbox AGAIN??
