I am an amateur game designer, an artist/crafter, and a reader. My specialty areas are design documents, story outlining, concept art, & moderating brainstorming sessions, surveys, and voting. My reading these days is mainly litRPG, xianxia, fanfiction, and the occassional non-fiction book about art or theories of writing fiction.

Thanks to motivation from getting some new followers and a new hashtag to try, I got to work using Gimp to prep more screenshots of my #VirtualPottery for posting. ๐Ÿ˜

Cat's Eye Top fits in two of my informal series: Colorful Abstracts and Conveying Motion. The name is from the shape like a toy top and the swooshes of color like the twists of color in cat's eye marbles. Lots of childhood nostalgia for me, though not for viewers probably. (1 of 2)

And now, for something completely different! I bring you... A chicken. Aside from the zig zag pattern on the body this has none of my usual symmetry or geometric elements. It's just the most realistic chubby chicken I could make in MoP. The comb, wattle, and tail are built out of the wing shape that was added in the most recent update, while, ironically, the wings had to be built with the leaf shape.
Painted my first metal miniature with enamel paint! I gave this figurine, a 2 inch Reaper brand Dire Boar, To @tulpa for his birthday. He chose to have it painted naturalistic colors of brown with black accents. I had fun assembling the stage for this photo - the green background is three glass bottles, the dice are from my gaming dice collection, and the wood pieces are actually a brain teaser puzzle but the hexagon shape works well for a roleplaying reference.
Punk Pinecone is (yet another) #VirtualPottery from #MasterOfPottery . It's not especially pinecone shaped - maybe the bottom half of a pine cone. But the pattern reminded me of the wooden 'petals' of a pinecone. It looks like a stack of eight pineconelaters, or cymbals, of decreasing size in neon colors. It's not quite a rainbow gradient because there is an extra aqua inserted between purple and blue. I like thehand-painted look of this texture with its ragged edges and incomplete opacity.

Does anyone have any favorite #VectorArt tools? Although I've mostly been making 3D art recently, as a #gamedev team member I've mostly created vector art. I'm pretty happy using Inkscape for still images, but I'd love to find a program that was better for creating vector animations. Or, if you know of a 3D program with great vector tools, I'd love to hear about that! ๐Ÿ˜Š

This post was inspired by a post asking about pixel art tools: https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@paintedsky/109396501630033835

What are your favourite #pixelart tools? Looking to upgrade my workflow and I havenโ€™t really been keeping up on the new hotness.

Five pieces of #VirtualPottery which are variations on one of the most widely exported and imitated types of pottery in history: blue and white. In Chinese: ้’่Šฑ็“ท. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_and_white_pottery
Wikipedia covers the history far better than I could. The painted flowers and horse are historical art supplied by the game. The pattern on the central jar is actually Egyptian, but I believe everything else is Chinese. The far right piece is supposed to be a kohaku koi fish (Japanese). #MasterOfPottery

I forgot hashtags existed on my first virtual pottery post, so I'll repeat the background info in this one in case new people see it due to the tags. This image is a piece of #VirtualPottery titled "Funnel Cloud" that I created within the game Master of Pottery (steam). I'd describe it as a geometricized tornado. I'm interested in discussing games which include art-making or artistic #crafting, and also #litRPG stories like this. Or 3D printing virtual art. #VirtualArt #MasterOfPottery
