I believe the Universe bends towards Justice and we all have a part. I've been a nonviolent organizer in the streets and in the office. I've taught at colleges and in many more church basements. These days, I coach others to take creative, life-affirming actions to win the world we want - one of ease, grace and justice. I live halfway up a hill on Chinook land in the Willamette Valley of Cascadia.

I know things are looking a bit bleak at the moment but let's not forget that Britain and France haven't been at war with each other for 210 years, which has got to be some kind of record
Sometimes, just before I post, I think about all the things I used say that I thought were funny—things I’m now ashamed of, language I wouldn’t use now. I sit with that for a moment, and ask myself if, one day a few years from now, I’ll feel that way about THIS post.

And then I post it anyway.
Reddit say they will age-gate content that promotes or romanticises depression, hopelessness and despair. First they came for the goths and I didn’t speak out as I wasn’t a goth.
Dude, if you're still posting "first they came for" -- that was a decade ago. They're building death camps now.

We get bagels from our CSA every week and lately they have been coming sealed in multiple layers of bags, and when I asked about it…

“We heard Miso steals bagels.”

Once more, for the people in the back:

An "epic hero" (*cough* Odysseus *cough*) is not an "epic hero" because they are a role model that does everything right. They were never meant to be an unproblematic fandom icon.

People bending themselves into pretzels to prove Odysseus (and others) never did anything wrong, questionable, or "problematic" are doing a disservice and flattening mythology into fan fiction.

Said what I said.

Piccadilly Circus has one of my favorite tiled staircases. Here's a black and white photo looking up the stairs.

I love how the bright light of the wall advert glistens off the tiling.

The #flood in #Texas made me realize that my #emergency kit wasn't flood-ready, so I moved it to a waterproof duffel bag, attached a couple buoys to it, put a desiccant pack inside, and moved it from the basement to the garage.

Wheelchair users, I’m a bit rusty on pushing folks around. I know to
Remember that folks have feet, to bal into elevators and up steps. What have I forgotten? What do you wish people pushing you (with permission) knew?
