Sometimes, just before I post, I think about all the things I used say that I thought were funny—things I’m now ashamed of, language I wouldn’t use now. I sit with that for a moment, and ask myself if, one day a few years from now, I’ll feel that way about THIS post.

And then I post it anyway.
