Shelf Fungi (Polypores) and Lichens

Went for a walk around the neighborhood this afternoon to see if there was anything interesting to photograph. A few birds, a squirrel, and not much else, but this dead branch with fungi and lichens was kind of nice!

Wildwood Lake is a shallow lake/marsh within the city limits of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA. It's a public park and home to many photo-worthy animals, plants, and birds. In late summer, much of the lake is covered with a carpet of beautiful American Lotus plants. Their large, deep green leaves are accented by these delicate, large flowers.
