How are Arctic Alaska communities responding to climate change?

The latest #ECM Case Study by Georgia Mosey published on the #CliMoHub, synthesises research on climate-related planned relocation. Despite growing qualitative work, Indigenous knowledge remains unseen in planning and policy.

Climate-Related Planned Relocation In Alaska – Climate Mobilities Hub | University Of Vienna

Planned relocation in Arctic Alaska is a growing focus within mobilities research, primarily driven by the increasing urgency of climate-related displacement. Within this field, there is an emphasis on community agency and researchers’ calls for participatory and interdisciplinary approaches.

Update: Theories In Climate Migration Research – Climate Mobilities Hub | University Of Vienna

We have created a new visualisation as part of an ongoing series that offers insights into the main conceptual themes and approaches discussed in our research field. The visualisation highlights the key theoretical perspectives and analytical lenses presented at this year’s ECMN conference, held in Bonn, Germany. Compared to previous years, the range of theoretical perspectives appears slightly more focused, drawing attention to several emerging areas of interest.

It is so nice to be back in this country, which has inspired much of my research.
Today, we spoke with migrant workers from Myanmar, who are increasingly establishing local roots in #Thailand due to the protracted conflict in #Myanmar.
