Archiving web pages? Great! Making available books out of print / in the #PublicDomain? Wonderful! Publishing music, photographs, or other art as #CreativeCommons or other clearly marked copyright-free option? Thank you a hundred times over!

DISTRIBUTING/ACQUIRING COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL WITHOUT PAYMENT TO THE CREATOR IS **WRONG**. You are not 'sticking it to the man'. You are not showing off your cool anti-capitalism creds. You are making it impossible for the artists you say you love to make a living doing what *they* love.

They can't do it now & they won't be able to do it AT ALL in the future because their publisher cancels their contract or their agent can't find them gigs.

It is also not just X, famous author/artist/musician - it is their agents, their publishers, their book cover artists, their translators, their printers, sound studios, paint suppliers, & every one of the thousand people who work on a movie set - PAs, Best Boys, cameramen, grips, etc.

You're killing ALL THAT.
