@normandc My point isn't that you shouldn't use technologies payed for by major companies. Linux development these days is also funded by major companies like Google, Microsoft or Oracle. Its about using free software and open ecosystems. And ASOP is free software - at least as free as any Linux you can put on your phone. If you go with #Replicant, you even get a freer Android than any other mobile OS.

@normandc I wrote the statement on an mostly (except for microG) de-googled android (https://e.foundation) using an app I installed from F-Droid. So we already found two alternatives. The more people make the move the stronger we become.

Last week I installed my own #Pixelfed instance (on #Yunohost). Is it possible to follow someone who is on a different Pixelfed instance? I haven't found how. When using the searchbar, all I get is

"An error occured, results could not be loaded.
Please try again later."

Also, I'm following my Pixelfed account from Mastodon and Pleroma accounts, and my Pixelfed posts don't appear in my timelines...

Boosts would be appreciated.

@IceWolf No, because OMEMO has Perfect Forward Secrecy. Messages can not be decrypted afterwards, for instance by an attacker or a new device.
