This weekend I got to glaze all of the pots I made over the last 8 weeks. Glaze is interesting. I’m curious to see how the little imperfections in the glaze surface turn out (like where I was using tongs to hold the pot while I dipped).
Images of the glaze and the different colour variants of the finished product are attached for reference.
I LOVE the colour of the red pre-fired glaze, especially when it’s dried matte on the pot. I wonder if I could ever get that in a fired product…
The white matte glaze used on the two left-most pots is not shown.
Pottery by OsaToday's #Juneteenth celebration #clay workshop was such a fun way to pass cultural knowledge to the next generation. Kids learned coil building and were taught how pottery skills were traditionally passed down through the family by women to their daughters, nieces and granddaughters in Nigeria as well as many other cultures around the world, including those Indigenous to the Americas. EDIT: a lot of people rejecting this because glitter is not eco-friendly, so I'm adding a link to biodegradable glitter. I'm sure other companies make such a thing.

Ben ZaninIt's less common knowledge than I would have expected, but sunscreen has a best-before date! It's a good idea to check that each season to make sure you don't need to replace it even if there's still some left.
Fortunately, expired sunscreen just gets less effective, not dangerous. You're still more likely to get food poisoning from the salad you put it on than from the expired sunscreen itself.
