It's been a while since I played with JavaEE, now JakartaEE.
I'm pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get a Jakarata EE 10 app up and running with @Apache netbeans and Payara micro (@payarafish).

Where it seems to me that in general the "cloud native" (ahum) world is moving towards more blabla and complexity to hide important stuff from developers, Jakarta EE is moving in the right direction: no nonsense, focus on the developer who has to write the code.

The fact that Gradle insists you use build scans to find potential issues when upgrading from 7.x to 8.x, and there is no way to use build scans without either Gradle Enterprise or transmitting information to Gradle Inc. controlled servers is unacceptable IMO. Almost enough to make me rethink usage of Gradle.

Addendum: By "nobody is pushing hate speech," I mean that no company, owner of the Social Network, can deliberately and aggressively force posts with hate speech onto users solely for the purpose of selling more ads. This does not imply that there is no hate speech - unfortunately, this is a problem that also spreads in the Fediverse, and the tools are not always adequate.

Oceania is defined as in https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oceania - it is not a continent, but instead a geographic region consisting primarily of Australia and New Zealand. I had to collapse those into one to avoid needing more than 8 options.
