I try not to let work politics get to me, but I was pretty hurt I didn’t get invited to this lunch meeting.
I’ve been trying out the mosquito traps that @colinpurrington recommended and it’s definitely catching mosquitoes. The trap is designed to catch females before they can lay eggs so hopefully we’ll start to notice a difference in the yard! I saw this new friend in the backyard, and was only able to get a few pictures through the window before e flew off. Not sure on the species, but it was very small, probably the size of a Wilson's Warbler. Anyone have any thoughts on the ID? Just west of Houston, TX #birds #whatsthisbird #birdid

While hiking in Inks Lake State Park (TX) yesterday I thought this was some sort of fungus or moss with sprouting spores. Once they started to move I realized what was actually going on!
