I saw this new friend in the backyard, and was only able to get a few pictures through the window before e flew off. Not sure on the species, but it was very small, probably the size of a Wilson's Warbler. Anyone have any thoughts on the ID? Just west of Houston, TX #birds #whatsthisbird #birdid

@GriffithPark Thanks! We don't usually get dark variants of the yellow-rumped warbler here and it's a bit late in the season for them as winter residents. But I'll check eBird to see if others have similar sightings.

@scott maybe a female or immature male magnolia warbler? it’s what the Merlin bird app tells me 😂😂😂
