Folks interested in social equity who work in data science will want to take note: the publishers of RStudio have reached a formal business agreement with Palantir, the espionage and cyberweapons company. The owner of Palantir, Peter Thiel, has said that democracy and freedom are incompatible with each other, and that poor people's lives are inherently worth less than those of rich people. Consider finding an alternative to RStudio as a data analysis IDE.

A teenager in the Bronx was accused of stealing a backpack. The police arrested him.

Couldn't make bail. Would spend 2 years on Riker's island awaiting a trial.

-only for the charges to be dropped. Many were appalled, they set it up for him to go to community college. That's where I met him once- my electronics club. Made an LED Christmas tree-he seemed... so so so sad.

He took his own life later that year.

Anyways. Uh, Sam Bankman-Fried to be released on $250 million bail. #cw

One of the most difficult things to understand about racism in America is how few of the worst atrocities are recorded, well known, brought to justice.

Last week, I did a review for MDPI (my first and last). I recommended a major revision because the error bars shown in their graphs were set to the default by Excel (not indicating standard error), and therefore, they should be corrected before the review of discussion, HOWEVER..
